CII And Amazon Partners To Design Special Export Module For MSMEs
The Confederation Of Indian Industry (CII) and Amazon’s major e-commerce have signed an agreement to develop a new export module so that MSMEs can easily export their products throughout India.
Both organizations will work together on a new export module that will have a detailed step-by-step guide for MSMEs to start exporting using e-commerce.
The development comes as part of a Memorandum Of Association (MoU) signed between Amazon India and CII (Confederation Of Indian Industry) to promote MSMEs in 10 provinces across India to build and expand their business in India and globally.
Amazon India and CII signed the MoU at the 17th Global SME Business Summit, a planned event planned in New Delhi on December 9-10, 2020.
As part of the agreement, Amazon India and CII will host a masterclass, conduct training, and workshops to empower MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to sell their products online through commerce platforms.
In addition, CII and Amazon will also publish general reports that will include market analysis and understanding of MSMEs by marking their product, product usage, success stories, and information on the most effective products.
By early January 2020, Amazon India had announced – the introduction of 1 crore computers MSMEs digitally; empowers $ 10 billion in e-commerce exports, creating 1 million jobs by 2025.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Trade Unions for Roads and Highways and MSMEs, Nitin Gadkari, said bringing rural and national districts forward was a priority for the government.
“The problem is that the contribution of rural and national districts is almost ignored. This is the time for the MSME department and industry to focus on rural areas, agriculture, amakhosi districts, and 115 aspiring districts, ”he said.
“I am thrilled to see CII and Amazon working together on this critical project. The joint efforts of government and industry will bring us closer to achieving the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, ”he added.

“Amazon’s role is very important in taking Indian MSME online to market to the world market,” he said.
Commenting on the partnership, Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Head of State, Amazon India, said, “As we continue to work with the government on this important agenda, our partnership with CII will help bring more MSMEs online, helping them become part of a growing digital economy. and create new business opportunities for them. ”
“This epidemic has highlighted the role that technology will play in meaningful interventions. Given the rapid change in the adoption of digital solutions, MSMEs need access to information and support that will assist in their digital transformation, ”said Chandrajit Banerjee, Director-General of CII.
In June 2020, Amazon India launched its ‘MSME Accelerate’ program to help beginners begin their operations as offices open across the country.
